2,300-Pound Great White Heading Toward Texas
After being tagged by the nonprofit group Ocearch, Katharine, a 14-foot long and 2,300-pound Great White shark, is heading for the Texas coast. Traveling over 3600 miles since being tagged, Katharine has been spotted recently 100 miles off the Florida coast in the Gulf of Mexico. Ocearch's tracking device will allow them to keep up with her swimming patterns for the next five years and can be viewed live on their website. The group tags Great Whites to try to understand their swimming patterns and courses.
