4 of 7 Red Cross Staffers Freed
A team of seven workers from the International Committee of the Red Cross were abducted early Sunday, October 13th when gunmen opened fire on their convoy in northern Syria. Four of the Red Cross staffers have since been released to safety. Responsibility for the abduction is unclear though threats have been received against the aid workers from al Queda's affiliate--the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham, or ISIS.
