8.2 Magnitude Earthquake and Tsunami hits Northern Chile
A magnitude 8.2 earthquake and tsunami hit the northern coast of Chile killing five people. The waves hit within 45 minutes of the earthquake, fatalities were caused by heart attacks or being crushed. The 2.11m tall waves forced evacuations along Chile's Pacific coast. Along with people being forced from their homes, power outages are sweeping northern Chile. Military officials are expected to be back in the regions of Arica and Tarapaca on Wednesday to prevent looting.
