Amazon Releases Fire Phone, Unique 3-D Capabilities
Amazon released the Fire Phone in Seattle today, a smartphone with a 4.7-in. 3-D display, a 2.2-GHz quadcore processor, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2 GB of memory. The phone will have unlimited photo storage, preinstalled Instant Video services, and will only be sold on AT&T's network for $199 32-GB versions and $299 64-GB versions. Customers can preorder the phone on Amazon's website and they will throw in a free year of Amazon Prime, its customer-loyalty program. The most unique of the phone's features is its 3-D capabilities, allowing real-time, in-depth displays from four front-facing cameras.
