American Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing
Shortly after lifting off from Miami, the windshield of a Boeing 757 American Airlines plane cracked. Pilots were forced to make a split decision. The captain of the plane opted to make an emergency landing at the Orlando International Airport instead of continuing to its original destination. All 156 passengers were offloaded safely and made it to Boston, though delayed. After inspection and replacement by maintenance crews, the crack was determined to be only on the outer pane of the double paned windshield. Since windshields rarely crack, officials are still trying to figure out the cause.
