American Teacher Shot in Livya While Jogging
Ronald Thomas Smith II, a 33-year-old American chemistry teacher, was shot and killed Thursday in Benghazi, Libya. Smith, who had spent more than a year teaching at an international school in Libya, was jogging near a compound when he was shot by unknown assailants. The teacher was well loved by the community and was a motivator for teenagers coping with the turmoil around them. He was a husband and a father with a Twitter account description that read, "Libya's best friend."
