Apple Seeks to Build Third Solar Farm at North Carolina Data Center
Apple has reportedly invested $55 million in a new 100-acre solar farm in Maiden, North Carolina. Generating 17.5 megawatts of power, it will be the third such farm in the area to power Apple's North Carolina data center. Apple's acquisition of the land is still pending development agreements, though they hope to have the project completed within five years. Apple, whose data centers operate off of 100% renewable energy, has made significant progress in renewable energy investments, including working on centers in both Oregon and Nevada.
