Bill Cosby Resigns from Temple's Board After Sexual Assault Allegations
After being accused of sexual assault by at least 20 women, Bill Cosby stepped down from Temple University's board of trustees. Cosby has held the seat since 1982. The decision came after a change.com petition that garnered more than 1,000 signatures. Saying he always wanted to put students' best interests first, Cosby resigned. After waves of women alleged Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted them, the 77-year-old comedian and actor has stepped down as cochair of a University of Massachusetts at Amherst fund-raising campaign, had his sitcom canceled by NBC, and gave refunds to ticket holders who no longer wish to see him perform next weekend at the Tarrytown Music Hall in New York.
