Colorado Launches 33rd Great American Beer Festival with Educational Slant
The 33rd Great American Beer Festival kicked off on Thursday at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver; it's the country's biggest craft beer movement. The movement is so large, in fact, that Metropolitan State University of Denver offers classes on the brewing process, beer styles and food pairings that go well with different types of beer. The university is one of several higher learning institutions pushing toward developing new programs to train future entrepreneurs in the industry. Colorado currently has 200 licensed breweries and "ranks in the top five nationally in Brewers Association measures of the industry's economic impact."
