Complaint Filed Against Wal-Mart for Illegal Labor Practices
The National Labor Relations Board, which protects workers' rights who protest for better working conditions, has filed a complaint against Wal-mart for unfair labor practices. The complaint was centered around Wal-Mart's illegal threats against more than 60 employees, 19 of which who were allegedly fired, for taking part in Black Friday protests in 2012. The agency said that Wal-Mart stores in 14 states illegally threatened "reprisal" against workers who participated in legal strikes. Wal-Mart will now have to attend a hearing with an administrative law judge of the NLRB, though the date has yet to be set.
