Could Psychedelic Drugs Like LSD Treat Depression?
British scientists say psychedelic drugs could prove to be highly effective as treatments for depression and alcoholism after viewing the first brain scans of people under the influence of LSD. The trial included 20 people who proved to be "very promising" in adding to existing evidence that psychedelics aid in reversing entrenched patterns of addictive or negative thinking. Prof David Nutt, who led the study, is "attempting to raise £25,000 through the crowd-funding site Walacea.com" as conventional funding doesn't apply because of prohibitive regulations.
