Disney Battling Again for Marvel Superheroes Copyright
Walt Disney Co. is once again battling over copyrights to Marvel comic book characters including Spider-Man, X-Men and The Hulk after Stan Lee Media appealed a judge's dismissal of the company's copyright claims. Disney bought Marvel in 2009 and the Colorado-based Stan Lee Media has since broken ties with comic book writer Stan Lee. The company is still taking claims for Disney profits made from movies and merchandise featuring the characters to a federal appeals court to get a final say on the longtime dispute. The panel has yet to issue a ruling.
