Egypt Calls for Cease Fire in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, 175 Left Dead
Egypt is calling for a temporary cease-fire between Israelis and the Gaza Strip Hamas rulers whose latest conflict has left 175 people dead. The proposal is supposed to be discussed by the Foreign Ministry later Monday at the Arab League meeting of foreign ministers. So far, neither side has stopped hostilities. Israel demands an extended quiet period while Hamas seeks Israeli-Egyptian blockades on Hamas-controlled Gaza to be lifted.
