Emergency Declared in Washington by Obama as Wildfires Continue to Burn
With wildfires still raging in Washington state, President Obama has been forced to declare an emergency in the state. The Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be aiding stage agencies with disaster relief. The fire has now claimed over 250,000 acres though cooler temperatures have allowed firefighters to reach 16 percent containment. More than 2,500 people are currently trying to tame the Carlton fires.
