England Captain Steven Gerrard Retires From International Football
After a 14-year career, England captain Steven Gerrard, 34, announced his retirement from international football. Gerrard has been a part of the international set-up since joining the Three Lions in 2000 and has played in 12 FIFA World Cup Finals since, including Brazil 2014. With 114 caps in total, he will retire as England's third-most capped player. After leading the Three Lions on 38 occasions, Gerrard plans to stay involved in an "ambassadorial role" but will primarily focus on his upcoming involvement with Liverpool in the Champions League.
