First National Guard Troops Take up Posts Along Texas-Mexico Border
The first batch of National Guard troops have been posted for observation along the Texas-Mexico border. The soldiers are a part of the 1,000 troops ordered by Gov. Rick Perry to the Rio Grande Valley to patrol for illegal immigrants. The operation will cost tax payers $12 million per month and was spurred on by 63,000 unaccompanied children being arrested between October and July for entering the U.S. illegally.
