Girls Charged with Slenderman Stabbing Found Competent to Stand Trial
The two Wisconsin girls held responsible for the stabbing of their friend to accommodate the fictional Internet bogeyman Slenderman have been found competent to stand trial. The two 12-year-old girls have been charged with attempted murder after stabbing their classmate 19 times in May, leaving the victim to crawl her way to safety. The girls' actions were supposedly promoted by a website known as Creepypasta Wiki that Slenderman 'leads.' They claimed in order to join his realm, a user must kill someone. Both girls will be tried as adults.
