'Ice Bucket Challenge' Goes Viral, Brings Awareness to Lou Gehrig's Disease
The "Ice Bucket Challenge" has now raised $13.3 million in donations since July 29th for the ALS Association to bring awareness to Lou Gehrig's disease, as compared to the $1.7 million raised during the same period last year. The stunt is simplistic calling challengers to dump a bucket of ice water on their heads, post it, and challenge friends to do the same within 24 hours or donate $100 to ALS.(The majority do both.) Celebrities including Robert Downey Jr., Taylor Swift, Lebron James, Bill Gates, and Chris Christie have all completed the challenge and spoke out for the cause.
