Imprisoned Mass Murderer Charles Manson gets Marriage License
Charles Manson, the notorious 1969 mass murderer who led a "family" of young killers, was granted a license in a California prison to marry a 26-year-old woman who visits him. The Kings County marriage license was issued Nov. 7 for Manson, 80, and Afton Elaine Burton, who moved to California to be closer to the prison. The couple must be married within 90 days or reapply; Burton is hoping for next month. The request is still being considered by the prison as Manson has had three violations for weapon possession. The ceremony would be held in the inmate visiting room with a maximum of 10 guests. Burton is hoping to get information on Manson that's not available to non-relatives in an attempt to clear his name.
