Kids Improve Literacy Skills by Reading to Homeless Cats
In an effort to help elementary students work on their reading skills, a Pennsylvania animal shelter is offering a chance to read to homeless cats. The Animal Rescue League of Berks County started Book Buddies last summer so that students could become more comfortable reading aloud. Parents have found the safe, judgement-free space has helped improve children's reading abilities.
