Mardi Gras Celebrations Undaunted by Cold Weather
Despite rain and cold temperatures, tens of thousands still gathered in the French Quarter of New Orleans for Mardi Gras celebrations. Quentin Tarantino stood atop a float that led the Krewe of Orpheus along with superkrewe's 32-float parade on Lundi Gras on Monday. The Zulu parade kicked off without a hitch. Clarinetist Pete Fountain's Half-Fast Walking Club marched down St. Charles Avenue followed by the New Orleans police vanguard on horseback. Even as rain fell, spirits did not. "Fat Tuesday" celebrations will continue today.
