Medically-Assisted Suicide: Brittany Maynard Ends Life After Cancer Diagnosis
Upon being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, Brittany Maynard, 29, decided to "die with dignity" by moving to Oregon, a state with physician-assisted suicide laws. Maynard decided to end her life because of the diagnosis, but did not do so before accomplishing a few life goals in the 11 months she was given to live. Included on her bucket list were trips with her husband to Yellowstone National Park, Alaska, and the Grand Canyon. Maynard took life-ending medication on Nov. 1.
