Microsoft CEO Takes Heat Over Suggestion that Women Should let Karma Determine Raises
The new Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was highly criticized for his comment that women who don't ask for raises have "good karma" while speaking at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing conference. Nadella said it wasn't about asking for raises but "having faith that the system will actually give you the right raises as you go along." Even after tweeting he had been inarticulate, he was met with an overall negative response as people comments that Microsoft should take steps to close the pay gap before addressing company trust.
