Military-Style Equipment Used by Ferguson Police Against Protesters
Ferguson police have resorted to using helicopters, armored vehicles and threats of arrests as of Wednesday night to try to control an area of unrest in the St. Louis suburb. Two high-profile journalists, Wesley Lowery of the Washington Post and Ryan Reilly of the Huffington Post, were arrested in a McDonalds and told not to take pictures. They were released after media contacted the police department for comment. Lowery tweeted he had seen people in Ferguson "hurt by gas/rubber bullets." Video from Ferguson streets show tear gas and helicopter spotlights used against protesters who are outraged over the shooting of an unarmed black teenager.
