'National Hero' Dies in the Fight Against Ebola
Sheik Umar Khan, a leader in Sierra Leone's fight against "the worst Ebola outbreak on record" died from the virus a week after his diagnosis. He was being treated by the medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres. The outbreak has been a struggle to contain despite international aide and safety equipment. Flights have been suspended to Sierra Leone and Liberia by the West African airline Asky. The current fatality rate of the disease is around 60 percent of the death.
