NFL Asks Potential Performers for Money to Play Super Bowl
The NFL supposedly asked potential 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show performers, including Katy Perry, Rihanna and Coldplay, if they would be willing to exchange headlining for paying the league. The offer to contribute a portion of post-Super Bowl tour earnings did not get a positive response from any of the candidates' representatives. The NFL does not usually charge performers but has been known to cover million of dollars worth of travel and production expenses. Last year's Halftime Show alone drew 115.3 million viewers.
