NY Marathoner aims to add to Record Consecutive Runs
Dave Obelkevich, a 70-year-old retired music teacher, is determined to join more than 45,000 runners on Sunday, November 3rd, to add to his record of finishing every New York City Marathon since 1976. He is the only one to finish so many in a row, according to the New York Road Runners, who organizes the race. Obelkevich's best time for the 26.2 mile course is 2 hours and 40 minutes, though now, he is just happy to finish the race. Preparation for the race has included running up to 40 miles a week.
