Oil Tanker set Ablaze After Derailing in VA near James River
Between 12 and 14 crude oil tanker cars derailed in Lynchburg, Virginia no more than 100 feet from the James River. Crews are frantically working to put out fires and determine how many gallons of oil leaked into the river. All derailed cars have been removed from the water, but the environmental impact has yet to be determined. Online videos show large flames and black smoke immediately after the crash. Each car held 30,000 gallons of oil.
