Oldest Living American Turns 115 Today
The oldest living American and second-oldest person in the world turned 115 today: Jeralean Talley of Detroit. Born on May 23, 1899, Talley is still mobile with the aid of her walker and plans to celebrate with friends and family at a local church. Misao Okawa of Japan is at the top of the Gerontology Research Group's list at 116 years old. When asked why she has lived so long, she simply answered, "It's all in the good Lord's hands."
