Olympic Runner Oscar Pistorius Claims Not Guilty in Murder Trial
Double-amputee Olympian Oscar Pistorius went on trial today for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steeenkamp, 29, who he shot four times through a bathroom door. Pistorius pleaded not guilty, claiming her death was a mistake as he thought she was a dangerous intruder. Prosecutors, however, are saying that Pistorius shot his girlfriend after a fight and the first witness has already testified to hearing "blood-curdling" screams from a woman before hearing four gun shots. Pistorius faces at least 25 years of prison if convicted. Since South Africa does not have trial by jury, Judge Thokozile Masipa will decide whether or not the champion runner is guilty.
