Outrage Sparked by Urban Outfitters' 'Blood-Stained' Kent State Sweatshirt
Urban Outfitters erroneously offered a vintage Kent State sweatshirt with only one available for $129; it was decorated with blood spatter. Outrage quickly spread on Twitter at the regrettable fashion choice that was reminiscent of the 1970 "Kent State Massacre," which left four people dead. Urban Outfitters apologized, saying the red stains were meant to suggest "discoloration" and "natural wear." The item has since been "sold out."
