Pediatrician Convicted of Waterboarding Child
Pediatrician Melvin Morse, 60, has been convicted by a Delaware jury of waterboarding his 11-year-old stepdaughter under a faucet. Morse was reported to have held the child under a kitchen sink and ran water in her nose and mouth until she choked, vomited and feared for her life. Morse had researched near-death experiences in children, but denied experimenting at home. The girl ran away in 2012 and reported the abuse. Morse has been convicted of one felony, waterboarding a child in a bathtub, and five misdemeanors. He faces several years in prison.
