Pod of Pilot Whales Beached in Florida
A pod of pilot whales became stranded in shallow water off Florida's Everglades National Park and have so far been unable to return to deeper waters. As many as 40 whales are stranded and six have already died. Initial rescue efforts are being stymied because the water is too shallow for boats, though 25 people have already joined the cause. If the non-endangered whales cannot be aided, they may be euthanized.
