Police Pressure Google to Disable Waze Cop-Tracker
Google's Waze traffic software is causing cops quite a problem. The mobile app, purchased for $966 million in 2013, warns drivers when police are nearby by using a combination of social media and GPS navigation. Officers are claiming the app is an endangerment to cops as it alerts "would-be police killers" of where they are parked. Law enforcement is currently pushing to have the police-reporting function disabled. Around 50 million users in a combination of 200 countries use the free service for real-time traffic guidance and warnings.
