Protective Coating of 103 Floor Chicago Skydeck Cracks Under Tourists
After stepping out onto the 103rd floor of Chicago's Willis Tower, tourists were surprised when it began to crack underneath them. After closing all four boxes of The Ledge, due to "routine cleaning," officials said it was the protective coating that was cracked as opposed to the glass. The coating prevents the glass from being scratched. The Ledge reopened Thursday afternoon with officials insisting it was structurally sound.
