Senate Rejects Paycheck Fairness Act for a Third Time
The Paycheck Fairness Act, meant to address differences in pay between men and women, was rejected for a third time by the Senate Republicans with a 52-40 vote on Monday. Democrats claim the act would narrow the gender pay gap by offering salary negotiations training, increasing employee legal options for fighting pay disparity and stop retaliation against employees who seek salary information. Republicans claim the bill was too broad and would cause unnecessary litigation.
