Shaun White Fails to Medal in Olympic Halfpipe
American snowboarder Shaun White, 27, failed to win his third gold medal in the Winter Olympic's halfpipe, leaving Russian Louri Podladtchikov as the new gold medalist. White came in fourth place with 90.25 while Japan's Ayumu Hirano and Taku Hiraoka won silver and bronze metals with scores of 93.50 and 92.25. White was trying to become the fourth athlete in the Winter Olympics history to win three consecutive gold medals in a single event, but White fell twice in both his first and second runs. This was the first year America did not medal in the event.
