Snapchat Comes to Settlement with FTC after Security Breach
Snapchat settled charges from the Federal Trade Commission claiming that the company deceived users. The charges included Snapchat collecting addresses without permission, allowing video messages to be stored on recipients phones, and failing to secure their "Find Friends" feature that affected nearly 4 million users' accounts. The settlement terms include Snapchat implementing a privacy program that will be professionally monitored for 20 years.
