Spider Buries in Australian Tourist's Stomach in Bali
A 21-year-old Australian had to be rushed to the Bali International Medical Centre while on vacation after a tropical spider buried into his stomach. Dylan Thomas awoke in his hotel room to find a red trail two inches from his naval and heading upwards. Doctors treated him with antihistamines, which only made his condition worsen as the scar grew bigger and began to create a series of blisters. The hospital then ran tests and discovered a spider had crawled into his body via an appendix scar and had been living there for three days. The spider was dead upon removal, leaving Thomas feeling "violated" and with the inevitable nickname of "Spiderman".
