Students Bringing Window Art to Downtown Jacksonville
The Looking Lab: Art in Empty Storefronts project is coming to downtown Jacksonville, FL to make storefront windows more aesthetically appealing. The Looking Lab is funded by a grant by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville and an exhibit of what their work will look like can be found at 107 East Bay St. next to Underbelly. Their goal is to transform each window space in to a "specific environment," such as coral reefs, mountains or other worlds. All of the credit for the art with go to UNF students who will be transforming the windows with their professor, Jenny Hager, as the curator for the project. The second installment will be unveiled on Friday at City Hall with a nine-window display.
