Surgery puts Radamel Falcao's Appearance in the World Cup Doubtful
Columbian striker Radamel Falcao, 27, sustained a serious knee injury in Monaco's Coupe de France match leaving him due for a impending surgery to repair his torn left anterior cruciate ligament. The ACL surgery that he will have in "the next few days" leaves his participation in the World Cup in doubt. A specialist who treats Falcao said that the former Atletico Madrid forward can be expected to be out of action for at least six months. Falcao is an asset for Columbia--he scored nine goals in World Cup qualifying--and will travel to Oporto for further tests in order to assess the full extent of his injury.
