Swimmer Attacked by Great White off California Beach
A juvenile Great White attacked a 40-year-old swimmer near Manhattan Beach pier putting him in the hospital on Saturday. Weak and sore, Steven Robles was released the next day but has no intentions of getting back in the water. Apparently, the shark was irritated after being hooked by a fisherman who lured it in with chum. The shark struggled for half an hour with the fisherman before he cut it loose. Marine biologist Eric Martin called it a "response bite," saying the swimmer was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
