Thousands of Starbucks Employees to Receive Free College Education
Starbucks will provide a free online college education to its student employees in a unique arrangement with Arizona State University. The program is available to 135,000 of the company's US employees who work at least 20 hours a week and have maintained grades high enough to get into Arizona State. The company will pay full tuition for baristas with two years of college credit and partial tuition for baristas with fewer credits. Most extraordinary is that Starbucks will not require workers to remain at the company.
