Three Sisters Springs Closes After 300 Manatees Move In
Three Sisters Springs in Florida had to close down on Monday after 300 manatees decided to rapidly move in. As tides began to rise at noon, manatees began to swim into the interior of the springs and by 1:00 p.m. a total of 293 manatees had been counted by watch volunteers. Issuing the springs closure, the US Fish and Wildlife suspect the influx was due to the cold front that arrived Monday night in which tide temperatures dropped to an extreme low.
