Twitter System Error Leads to Widespread Reset of Passwords
A security issue with a third-party website led to Twitter sending out several emails to users telling them passwords would be reset; Twitter would not release how many users were affected. The "system error" apparently took place on Twitter's end. A similar security incident took place in November 2012 when Twitter unintentionally reset a number of user's passwords that had not been compromised.
