Two U.S. Species Make Scientific Institute's new Species List
The International Institute for Species Exploration announced its top 10 new species from the 18,000 discovered the previous year. Two species from the U.S. made the list including the "Skeleton Shrimp" in California, which measures only 3.3 millimeters, and "Clean Room Microbes," berry-shaped bacteria discovered in a Kennedy Space Center "clean room" in Florida. The bacteria showed resistance to NASA's spacecraft sterilization methods.
