University of Virginia to Rehaul Policy After Harrowing Account of Sexual Assault
Student leaders are staging protests across the University of Virginia after a Rolling Stone article was published detailing the alleged sexual assault of a freshman woman by seven men at Phi Kappa Psi fraternity in 2012. Police are currently investigating and the school has suspended all Greek social activity on campus until Jan.9 to address sexual violence and assault. Rolling Stone said it had fielded an "outpouring of comments" from women who shared similar stories of assault on campus. An independent counsel will be appointed to review the school's sexual violence policies.
