Uruguay Striker Luis Suarez Takes to Biting at the World Cup
For the third time if four years, Uruguay striker Luis Suarez, 27, has bitten an opponent on the soccer pitch in a World Cup match that sent his team to the knockout stage. Late in the game, a tumble to the ground left Suarez holding his mouth and Italian player Giorgio Chiellini clutching his shoulder. Replays showed Suarez "digging his teeth into Chiellini's arm." No penalty was issued even though Chiellini pulled down his jersey to reveal a bite mark. Suarez was suspended for biting the opposition in both 2010 and 2013 and could now face a ban from international play if FIFA chooses.
