U.S. Appeals Court Rules Oklahoma Same-Sex Marriage Ban Unconstitutional
A Denver U.S. appeals court has upheld a lower court ruling that struck down Oklahoma's gay marriage ban, saying the voter-approved ban violated the U.S. Constitution. The ruling was issued by a three-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday. Judge Carlos Lucero said the ban was too broad and that it denied "a fundamental right" to same-sex couples who wanted to marry "regardless of child-rearing ambitions."
