Velveeta Cheese Recalled in Midwest for Lacking Preservatives
Kraft recalled 260 cases of Velveeta cheese from Walmart stores across 12 states because the cheese lacked proper preservatives. The recall was issued because of insufficient levels of sorbic acid in the cheese, which could cause it to spoil prematurely and lead to food poisoning. The cheese went to three Walmart distribution centers and could have shipped to Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
